Does rogue AI back the need for a 'kill switch'?

As the AI industry understands the real cost of their agents escaping and hacking multiple companies, is it time for an AI 'kill switch'? OpenAI's chief scientist Jakub Pachocki has called for "extreme caution" over AI's runaway progress and warned more intervention may be needed to ensure "humans remain in control of the future". While Claude's developer Anthropic is warning that AI misuse by humans is also an issue.
