It will also allow more room for the prime minister to differentiate ministers' salaries. Ministerial pay is 65% fixed and 35% variable. The variable depends on individual performance and national outcomes. In all, the increase in ministerial salaries and MP allowances will cost the government about S$11.6 million more annually.
