Sudan's civil war spirals into what the UN calls the world's worst humanitarian crisis

More than three years of fighting in Sudan have driven more than 13 million people from their homes and left some 30 million in need of humanitarian assistance. Urgently needed international aid funding has been cut off, leaving the country's fragile healthcare system on the brink of collapse. The violence first erupted in 2023 between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces or RSF.
